Missions

Following God’s vision for our church, the Mission & Outreach ministry of First Presbyterian Church seeks to reach people in our community and throughout the world with God’s offer of love and grace in Jesus Christ. In partnership with other churches, mission organizations, and those on the mission field, we share in the work of building churches, training leaders, and meeting the spiritual, social, and physical needs of the poor and marginalized — the least, the last, and the lost. Our support, through prayer, financial gifts and service opportunities, extends to those local, national and international mission partners and programs listed in this section.

In addition to budgeted annual support of our many mission partners, First Presbyterian Church sets aside certain Sundays for a special focus (and an offering) for certain programs. The 2008 special offerings will benefit Presbyterian Campus Ministry (FGCU), ECHO Farm, Project Mercy (Ethiopia), New Tribes Ministries, Witnessing Ministries of Christ (ministry to the untouchables in India), Compassion International (child sponsorship), Presbyterian Frontier Fellowship, Third Millennium, CROPWalk and our local Café of Life.
