First Church partners with Compassion International — a Christian child development ministry whose mission is to release children from their spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enable them to become responsible and fulfilled Christian adults. Child sponsorship through Compassion is making a difference around the world. By working with more than 8,000 churches in 25 countries, Compassion delivers its holistic child development program to over 2 million babies, children and young adults.

Give a Child Hope Today
Through a relationship with a local church and a caring sponsor, a child is able to discover his or her true value. For $38/month, a sponsored child receives: education, health care, food supplementation, Christ-centered guidance, and opportunities for recreation. Sponsors receive photos of their Compassion child and are encouraged to write letters and to pray for them. Sometimes there are even opportunities for church groups to visit their sponsored children.

First Church & Compassion in the Dominican Republic (DR)
First Church has been partnering with Compassion International in the DR since 2014. Committed to bringing hope and ending the cycle of poverty, we have helped to support Compassion’s Child Survival Program in Boca Chica, Santo Domingo, and expand the Child Development Center. We encourage our church members to sponsor a child in the DR.
