To commemorate the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth, this program features his Mass in C Major. Although not initially appreciated for its ground-breaking approach, this most underrated of his works employs contrasting colors and dynamics, glorious outbursts of singing, key changes, and unusual harmonies. Come enjoy Beethoven’s genius through this rare and amazing masterpiece. Also featured: the winning composition from the 2nd annual Sanibel-Captiva Trust Prize in Choral Competition.

Enjoying her first season as artistic director, Shannon Arnold continues the Mastersingers’ high caliber of performance excellence and the cutting-edge choral repertoire that has defined it. Shannon holds a master’s degree in choral conducting from Temple University, where she was awarded the Robert Page Conducting Scholarship.
