Dr. Charles W. Forman, a Presbyterian missionary from the United States, founded Forman Christian College (FCC) in 1864 in Lahore, Pakistan. FCC is a liberal arts institution where students of all backgrounds—men and women, Christian, and Muslim—interact and learn together. Forman is successfully demonstrating a model of interfaith harmony to a nation and culture historically deeply divided along lines of religion, class, and gender. The coeducational university is built around the U.S. four-year liberal arts model, and includes bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree options. All classes are taught in English. The college motto is: “By Love Serve One Another.”
