What if you had to choose between paying the mortgage or putting food on the table?
Many of our neighbors are facing these impossible decisions, waiting in line for hours at food banks, and struggling to cope with all the uncertainty. We have all seen the recent news stories on the rise in unemployment—just one of the heartbreaking effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. From local tourism and service workers to small business owners and farmworkers—all have been hard-hit, many with no compensation for weeks at a time.
There is a way you can help.
Save Our Home is a tax-deductible charitable fund created specifically to help Southwest Florida residents who have lost jobs due to the coronavirus shutdown. First Church invites our members, neighbors, and friends to contribute. All applicants requesting grants will be vetted through Love INC; those approved may receive up to $1,000 to cover mortgage, rent, and/or utility bills through September when seasonal hiring is expected to resume.
First Church will receive and disburse all funds, taking no administrative fees.
