2020 Manger Tree
November 14 – December 6
Each year at Christmastime, our deacons work with multiple community outreach ministries to provide Christmas gifts for children whose families struggle to do so. When you participate by sponsoring a child and praying for his or her family, you make their load a little lighter.
This year we are offering three ways to participate:
1. In Person – Stop by the Manger Tree in the Art Gallery (at the east end of the narthex) to select an ornament which represents a local child. Register your sponsor-ship with one of our deacons and pick up an instruction sheet. Then enjoy shopping for your child’s Christmas gift and return your gift by noon on Sunday, December 6.
2. From Afar – Those who are still up north can shop for a local child by completing an online form, making their purchases on Amazon, and shipping the items directly to the church. Once you complete the online form you will receive a detailed email with instructions for shop-ping and shipping. Our weekly First News email will have dates and details in the weeks to come!
3. Online – If you are unable to shop but would still like to participate, you can donate online on the First Church website beginning Saturday, November 14; simply select “Manger Tree” from the drop-down list. All donations will be used to purchase gift cards for local children in middle or high school.
