Music & Arts

Music and sacred arts have long been a vital part of worship. Our music ministry allows you the opportunity to use your talents to the glory of God – whether your gifts lie in the performing arts or in the creative arts.

In 2010 the Chancel Choir and orchestra recorded a CD called Great Hymns of the Faith which features a collection of the many hymns you know and love. Although there are almost no actual CDs left, it is available to download on Amazon or you can listen on YouTube.

If you would like to develop your musical talent further, the First Academy of Music provides high-quality musical instruction in a Christian environment for students of all ages and levels of skill. Learn more.

A variety of choirs and ensembles are offered throughout the year, including:

Angelus Bell Choir – The Angelus Bell Choir is an experienced bell choir who provide music offerings about once a month in worship. The ability to read music is very helpful for this ensemble.

Chancel Choir – The Chancel Choir leads our congregational choir each Sunday during worship. They also provide anthems and other special music to enhance our worship of God. The Chancel Choir prepares a variety of styles of music from classical to Gospel.

Children’s Choir – Children learn the foundation of healthy choral singing, reading music and sharing their voices in worship services. The Children’s Choir is open to all children kindergarten through 12th grade.

Contemporary Ensemble – This year-round ensemble learns four to six select pieces during the summer and presents them in services during season. Singers focus on a variety of modern worship music, including hymns arranged in a contemporary style, choral settings of popular music, gospel and jazz styles.

Jubilate Bells – This seasonal bell choir is a great place for ringers of all abilities to participate. The ability to read music is important; we will teach you the skills needed to ring.

Men’s Choir – The men in this ensemble have a great time learning a variety of music for worship services.

Motet Choir – The Motet Choir practices about once a month and presents occasional offerings in our worship service. The music tends to be more challenging than the Chancel Choir pieces. These experienced singers and music readers are able to learn the music on their own and come together to refine the final presentation for our worship service.

Tuesday Singers – The Tuesday Singers bless those in our local assisted living facilities with music and fellowship. A wide range of music is sung that includes familiar hymns, Broadway show tunes, and some old favorites.

Art Gallery

Our Art Gallery has been developed as a place for local artists to display their works. The featured show changes three times a year, with most pieces available for sale once the show is completed.
