BethanyKids, a First Church mission partner, provides pediatric care across many different African countries in addition to training pediatric surgeons across the continent. The physicians who train at BethanyKids come from as far away as Madagascar and Sierra Leone, and many of them are returning to their homes as the first pediatric surgeons in their country. These BethanyKids graduates self-identify as missionaries and share the values of sacrificial and unconditional love with their BethanyKids teachers. This training program is also the first specialty training program under the Pan-African Academy of Christian Surgeons (PAACS), which ensures that the professional training is coupled with spiritual discipleship.
