Slavery is a multibillion dollar industry. IJM is a Christian agency that is working to end slavery for good, through rescue of victims of slavery, sexual exploitation, and other forms of violent oppression. IJM lawyers, investigators, and social workers partner with local authorities to secure immediate victim rescue and aftercare, to prosecute perpetrators and to ensure that public justice systems effectively protect the poor from violence. IJM works through field offices throughout Africa, Latin America, and both South and Southeast Asia. First Church has a partnership with IJM in the Dominican Republic.
