Our smallest disciples at Wonder Years Preschool were asked several questions regarding the spiritual discipline of prayer. Students ages 3 to 5 years old responded to their teachers, who recorded their responses to share with you. We hope you grasp the joy that exists in the prayer life of a child!

What is prayer?
Ciaran: “A prayer is you go next to a teacher, you bow your head
and put your hands together and you say something.”
Leo: “It’s like God.”
Grace: “A prayer is something that helps people.”

Where do you pray?
Heath: “School and home on my bed.”
Dominic: “In my house when we were eating breakfast.”
Eleanor: “At my house in my room.”

What do you say to God?
Eli: “Thank you, God.”

Grace | Age 3

How do you feel when you are praying?
Charles: “Happy, I like doing it.”
Elizabeth: “Happy because I love to pray.”
Eliana: “Love.”

Why do we pray?
Lila: “Because we always have lunch.”
Ada: “For God.”

But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the
little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for
the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell
you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of
God like a little child will never enter it.” Luke 18:16-17
